Michael Casey Jungles Chicago IL Obituary: Illinois Community Mourns the Death of Michael Casey Jungles

The Illinois community mourns the passing of Michael C. Jungles, age 43, of Wauconda, Illinois, who passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2026 in Trevor, Wisconsin. Michael’s infectious smile, generous spirit, and deep commitment to helping others touched the lives of countless friends, family, and community members.

Born on March 9, 1982, Michael was known for his warm personality, sharp sense of humor, and ability to make everyone feel welcome. Those who knew him describe a man with a big heart — someone who lived by the belief that bringing a smile to another person’s face was one of life’s most important purposes.

Michael had a passion for music, especially playing the guitar, often sharing that joy in informal jam sessions with fellow musicians. But his greatest joy came from giving back. He devoted considerable time to philanthropy and community service, supporting charitable efforts ranging from providing Christmas gifts to children at Mooseheart to raising significant funds for childhood cancer research through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

An active member of local organizations, Michael contributed to the Wauconda Moose Lodge and the Wauconda Masonic Order, building enduring friendships and serving with dedication. His efforts were recognized in 2023 when he was awarded the Key to the Village of Wauconda for his work on community memorials and service projects.

Michael is survived by his beloved fiancée Karolyn Wotring and her sons, his mother Lisa Bodett and stepfather Bob Bodett, his sister Melissa Jungles Pazely and her family, and numerous extended family members and dear friends who loved him dearly.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 16, 2026, at Kisselburg‑Wauconda Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service to honor his life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a cause close to Michael’s heart.

Michael’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and service will be remembered by all who were fortunate to know him.
